I've had comics since I was a kid...even before I could read, (mom would buy them at the bus stations to keep me entertained when traveling) and one character, that was almighty and could never finish in understanding was...well, Thor. Why hang out with a bunch of mortal superheroes when He's every effigy of what a viking God should be: tall, blonde, handsome and carries a BIG weapon around? Forget about summoning thunder and smashing through almost everything kids, Thor here has one of the biggest hearts I've seen in a Warrior God. It's not about power, it's not about humongous Nordic balls...it's about: HONOR.So YES, the movie is awesome, especially if you watch it 3D and on a digital screen, you get to appreciate the cleanliness of an image PLUS Asgard, is like, where Jesus and his peeps should go on for Spring Break and hang out with the "Valkyries Gone Wild" cast to lose their virginity. My face just botoxed in awe when I stared at the awesome job they did on the digital design, from the rainbow bridge to Valhalla to the Bifröst and Chris Hemworth's perfectly chilled bod:
HOT
Now, onto the other performances in this movie...Natalie Portman seemed more of an extra rather than a pivotal character in the movie, I mean damsel in distress? Played. But it's cool the role she will play in order to put together the Avengers thanks to her wormhole theories, although I don't actually see her in the coming Avengers flick. Loki's character in the other hand was well developed to the point were you could almost feel sympathy for this lonely trickster God. The extent of his power though I reckon will be further exploited in the coming movies.
Now, one really seriously boring thing I would discard from this movie would be: Thor's friends. They're pretty people with weapons, kinda like Justin Bieber in a room full of women trying to get impregnated: ABSOLUTELY USELESS. I just think they were there to fill in a huge writer's gap and please the fans with their presence, to humanize a God and give it more familiarity with the audience, I mean it works, but... made Thor look less bad ass than he already was. Bring in the cool friends dang it!!: Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury. They have style, they have Grace and DONT wear lace.
So yes, stay til the credits roll very a la Marvel, to find out, WHO will be the villain for the upcoming Avengers movie... in the meantime, I'll be drooling at the last pic.
